Naturally Aspirated: Art Center Car Classic 2013

Pasadena CA, Oct 27 2013 - Jay Leno is a natural fit for the Art Center’s annual Car Classic. While most of the crowd gets buzzed about his appearance, Jay had his own reason for being.

“You know, they always say you never want to meet your heroes because it’s disappointing, but this is not the case here. These are two of my heroes. I was 13 years old when I first became aware of Pete Brock.

I don’t know why I thought he would be like a 100 now because when you’re 13 and someone is designing something like the Sting Ray and like the one over there (2014 Corvette), it’s like they must be really old. Pete is not much older than I am – it’s pretty amazing. Tom (Peters), you too – amazing job on the new Corvette.”

Jay’s heroes settled in for a long interesting walk-through of the history of the Corvette – both old and new. Tom and Brock were some of the first students of the Art Center – investments that paid off big and will provide annual dividends back to the School of Design for decades to come.

“I’m one of those people who believes engineers will save the world. I think you guys are the future and you make it what it is.”
